#Freeyuliatsvetkova, online meeting about LGBTQI+ rights in Russia

Yulia Tsvetkova is a Russian artist arrested by the reactionary Kremlin bureaucracy of Vladimir Putin. They claim that she is “spreading pornography” with her abstract drawings of female bodies. In reality the Kremlin is using her drawings to attack all women and LGBTQI+ activists. Yulia Tsvetkova can be jailed for six years if found guilty. Socialist Alternative in Russia is calling for awareness and protests on 14 august at Russian embassies across the world. The Kremlin not only attacks artists like Yulia Tsvetkova, they also want to ban same-sex marriage in the constitution. A huge anti-LGBTQI+ campaign is enforced to spread hate and misinformation among Russians.

Therefore Socialist Alternative in the Netherlands and Russia organize an online meeting on 11 august at 20:00 hours Amsterdam time. Speaker will be Sasha Alekseeva from Russia, to speak about the attack on women and LGBTQI+ people.
